Never Let It Be Said
Never let it be said
That you left your heart untouched
For what is the purpose of a heart
If not to be loved
If your intention is never to love
To live your life in relative anonymity and safety
Never once taking a chance on yourself
Then there might as well be an empty space
Vacated of anything remotely resembling a heart
Give it to the next soul who’s heart has been broken
But spirit remains intact for they know that life
For all its hurts and pains, promises great rewards
To those who persevere against all odds
Life, like the people who embrace it
Loves a good story and a happy ending
Never let it be said you left your heart untouched
Never let it be said my friend
You were too scared to love.
