On Bush

It's 8pm and Pres Bush is speaking about illegal immigrants and border security. There are many ramifications of illegals in this country, but the hope for a better life keeps calling them despite all the inherent dangers of a country that doesn't want them here. I can't fault anyone for wanting the best for themselves and their family being of Caribbean descent myself. Bush's ratings are in the toilets right now, something like 23% and a surefire way for him to boost his ratings is at the end of speech give a nod and say, "Now, go get 'em Jack Bauer." His numbers would rocket overnight. It sounds funny but it wouldn't be too far from the truth. It's amazing what moves people in this country to action: celebrity endorsements, self-promotion of their own selfish needs, but then there are those who are moved by the need to help their fellow man, and there is no higher cause than that.
