Beyond Words

There are moments
When words can’t aptly convey
The rush of emotions being felt
They would be inadequate to express
The wonderment living in your heart
To explain the feeling that at any second
Your heart could leap from your chest
Like a fish flying through water
You are at the mercy of someone’s discretion
At any second an inadvertent word, a look of bewilderment
A protracted silence, a pregnant pause
Has you contemplating your very existence in this world
To live so precariously through the eyes of another
Is a balancing act few will ever master, but
When love comes calling we all fall at her feet
In hopes of keeping her happy forever.
