Sanctuary of My Mind

Poetry and Prose will take you away, you'll be drifting between darkness and eternal moonlight...savage passion and reasonable love will sing their songs...flickers of happiness, embers of sadness...all you need to forget time is still ticking. (written by a reader)

Timeless Photograph

The hurt of the world
Breathes in every breath
Pain is eternally felt
Staying alive in recollections of your elders
Pictures link together a history of your life
Your aura greets strangers and they know
They see themselves in your weakness
Take pride in the silent strength of your resolve
They too have cried in the dark
Praying to God they’re not losing their goddamn minds
Nothing comforts their hearts filled with despair
Tonight is a beautiful night to die
Before that moment can arrive,
Sleep steps in and fills the night with beautiful dreams
Dreams known only to you so long ago as a child
You rediscover the innocence of your youth
When life held you in the palm of her hands
When you believed in the relevance of God
With the loss of innocence sometimes comes a loss of faith
When so many of us lose our way and it’s in this interim
When we should seek to find the truth of who we are
When the sanctuary of aloneness gives us time for introspection
From this purple haze you should emerge with inner knowledge
Necessary to balance a well lived life
A sense of your spiritual self should radiate your aura
Those days of never wanting to wake up
To sleep the eternal sleep of peaceful dreams
Are now in the rearview mirror of who you are
Perspective is gained and an understanding of seeing the bigger picture
That life, in the moment of its occurrence isn’t a photograph
An image or thought frozen in time easily dissected for its shortcomings
Life is constantly shifting, changing never operating on your schedule
A photograph couldn’t truly capture the moments of your life being lived
Timeless, only in the context of a flash bulb going off
There goes life happening again,
Take a picture before it’s too late of this fleeting timeless photograph.
