Beautiful Waters
From which beautiful waters did you emerge
Fully conscious of who you are
You were a woman before you were a child
Your innocence feeds the hunger
Of the eyes that watch you walk by
Drinking greedily from every girlish flirtation
Looking for an entrance to extract your sweetness
They all want to be, the first one to make you a woman
As if they would know how to touch your essence
Being saved for that someone special
From which beautiful waters did you emerge
One day I hope to swim in the depths of your waters
Touching bottom every single time
For that day I wait until you are ready to give yourself.

( I was reading The Reader by Bernard Schlink and it inspired this piece.)
