Make Them Proud

The driving force in your life
Is to make your parents proud
Success or fortune has its rewards
But knowing the sacrifices made by others
On their strength you now stand
Lessons they’ve taught to you
Is now passed down to your children
The words one day you will understand
Now makes perfect sense
The times when you thought they didn’t love you
When the punishment didn’t fit the crime
Little did you know they were preparing you for life
Thank you doesn’t seem enough to say
To repay them for the sacrifices made
Raise good children who are giving
Your debt of gratitude will be fully paid
That, would make your parents proud.
