There is something to be said
About believing in yourself
An unwavering faith that your life vision can't be altered
Even when the naysayers who 'know better'
Somehow know what's best for your future
Without even knowing who you are
Your passions, your dreams, the hopes no else can see
They pass judgement on you with a dismissive hand
As if your life has no relevance beyond your social status
Your mere existence is but an annoyance to them
None of this should ever truly matter
If you follow the footsteps of your heart
The path you take will never let you down.
