Fleeting Life
Time goes by so fast these days now
Faster than it used to when we were younger
Somehow things that seemed so important
To give our life some sort of meaning
Without the routine it all seems so empty
Friends we always thought we would have
Somewhere along the line we went our separate ways
Time spent and endless conversations
Laughs and all those jolly good times
Just a memory frozen in time
Gathering dust occasionally echoing through our hearts
Of the people we once were how easily we are forgotten
By the ones who claim to love us forever
Words lost in a breath disappearing into thin air
How fleeting life can be when you’re not even looking
From a child to a man seems like only a day has passed
Where has all the time gone?
Seemed like we would have forever
How fleeting this life can be
Grab your fist of happy
Cherish it with every breath
One day soon you will need that memory
To keep you going to the next.
