Sanctuary of My Mind

Poetry and Prose will take you away, you'll be drifting between darkness and eternal moonlight...savage passion and reasonable love will sing their songs...flickers of happiness, embers of sadness...all you need to forget time is still ticking. (written by a reader)

Honey Colored Girl

Dipped in chocolate syrup
Her skin is the color of golden brown
Legs so long and beautiful
Soon they will be wrapped around
Eyes so innocent they could make you cry
Weep for the person you once were
God must have forgotten earth isn’t heaven
Left her here to wander among the people
Somehow through some stupid miracle
She stands at my doorsteps with her heart open
Letting me in without a struggle
Honey colored girl dipped in chocolate
Many more years I know we will spend
Getting to know each other beyond the surface
With you I don’t want to pretend
That being in love doesn’t matter
It’s the hope of finding love again
That kept me going until you got here.
