Sanctuary of My Mind

Poetry and Prose will take you away, you'll be drifting between darkness and eternal moonlight...savage passion and reasonable love will sing their songs...flickers of happiness, embers of sadness...all you need to forget time is still ticking. (written by a reader)

The Intoxicating Scents of Lovemaking

After we made love, it felt as if I had taken a bath in your skin
It is a scent I want to wear everyday knowing that you are a part of me
I want to feel it as warmly as I do your smile
A part of my breath, one with my consciousness
The intoxicating scent of you calls me inside of your love again
I will make love to you as many times as my body will allow
When it fails me, I will use everything in my possession
To make sure there is nothing you are left wanting
Pleasing you brings me pleasure and it means more to me than my own
Only when I know you are completely satisfied
Is the only time I can take true satisfaction in making love
As we laid in bed, I breathed you in and held my breath
I want our passion to be captured forever and become a part of me
Every breathe I exhale is in reverence to us making love
The scent of you breathes in my every pore
The taste of your warm passion is still wet on my lips
When I touch my skin your kisses I feel
It makes me hard all over again
I cannot wait until I get home this evening
To undress you and smile at the sight of you naked
I know all your body’s secrets and the things that give it pleasure
I know just where to touch and watch your nipples rise to greet my tongue
Even the heat permeating from your body has its own wonderful scent
It is a mixture that is at once seductively intoxicating
Sometimes I wonder how is it possible to have lived without you in my life
You were always out there bringing beauty to the world and now you are mine
Every time we make love the intoxicating scents of our lovemaking
Lives in the walls, the sheets, our skin and in the air that we breathe
Taking a shower feels like a sin as if we are washing away the love we made
The way we make love cannot be washed away with the warmth of water
The love we make sustains our soul and the beautiful aroma of our lovemaking
Will forever live in our memory long after we are no longer physically capable
But in our minds, we can make love to each other for the rest of our lives.

Passionate Soul

Passion feeds the soul
In its absence hunger endures
An incessant yearning
For what was once known
Festers in the shadow of your heart
It hungers for the nourishment
Cast by the light of love.

The Beauty of Who You Once Were

Everything you are can’t be hidden
The mask you portray is a mirror
That can easily be read like the blind reading Braille
To touch you, one would feel all the hurt inside your heart
That you so easily hide but you glide through your days
With that smile so disarming it’s mistaken for charming
You no longer know who you are
You’re a child lost in a world of dysfunctional adults
An innocent soul corrupted by a false ego that led you astray
The path back to righteousness isn’t so easily bought
Everything you once were is seen in the faces of innocent children
Laughter so haunting it pierces the dark corners of your soul
In the middle of nowhere you fall to your knees
Beg the Lord God for forgiveness please

And tears stream down your face unashamed
The barren soil beneath you soaks up your pain
The beauty that once lived in you will make this ground fertile
Flowers of every color spring forth born of the dreams from your heart
The ones who will come after will enjoy
The beauty of who you once were.

Breath of Beauty

Breath of beauty
My soul tastes her energy
My mind partakes of her essence
Allowing me to merge with her being
And it’s a beautiful thing
To see natural beauty,
Just a breath away from my grasp
She’s an entity living in the air
Even when she leaves,
She will still be here
A part of my memory
Freed to roam through my collective conscience
Dissecting every facet of her beauty
When all is done and said
I am left to marvel that such a wondrous creature
Breathes the same air as me.

Sweet Pain

The sweet pain of love’s touch
Is only sweet in the aftermath
When memory becomes selective
To ease our heart of remembering
In the moment, pain is unrelenting
Searing the heart deeper than any sword
Than any pain man can concoct
From the depths of his imagination
Not even man can conjure up
The brutality of a heart left in ruins
Of a love that was once so beautiful
Left alone to suffer for all eyes to see
Love once growing is now decaying
Passion is now another word for anger
The depths of feelings that love can elicit
From all hearts she touches
Is a testament to her inherent passion
For life and destruction.

Still Beautiful

Everything about you is still beautiful
Even though I’ve seen you at your worst
True character is thus defined
As you stand there naked with nothing left to lose
And still, you hold on to your principles
As the Queen you are
In that moment,
You are more beautiful than any woman
My eyes have blessed to gaze upon
And if by some fortuitous twist of fate
My sight is taken away
By someone far more knowing than me
There would be no need to see anything else
I have seen beauty from the inside and her name is You.

Special Someone

To find that special someone
Who loves you despite yourself
Is indeed a wonderful thing
That should leave you believing
That all things are possible
Even when you weren’t even looking
Love found you hiding your heart from her
But when she wants it
It’s hers without even asking
That’s the way love goes
Sometimes she knows you better than you know yourself
She will give you what you need
Which doesn’t always mean it’s what you want
When you find that special someone
Open your heart to let her in
True love may never come your way again
Do all you can to make sure she stays
Love her the way deserves
And she will love you with all of her heart.

The Future

To see youth in earnest
Fresh like spring
Does my heart good every time
The future may be in doubt
But all is not lost
When in their eyes
River of thoughts float by
A spark of interest
Beyond their own existence
Hold their attention
All is not lost
There is still hope for the future.

Mother To A Child

Inside of you life begins anew
In nine months you will become a mother
Blessed with the gift of an innocent child
Brought to life in the grace of love
Everyday, the bond you feel grows deeper
It’s the manifestation of true love in its purest form,
A mother’s undying love for her child
Your body goes through a metamorphosis
But giving birth is about change, about renewed hope
The dreams we have for ourselves
We now have bigger ones for our children
On the day your child is born
Life will be never be the same again
You will become a mother
Trusted with the sacred duty of raising this child
There is no greater job of importance in the world
Than that of being a mother.

Girls of South Africa

There is a light
That shines
Deep inside their hearts
The struggles of life
Hasn’t made them bitter
In their eyes,
You see grace, as if God,
Is personally holding their hands
Letting them know, you too are loved
That he hasn’t forgotten his children
On the other side of the world
Even though they’ve lost so much
They remain touched with love
There still lives a radiance of spirit
That shines so brightly in their faces
No amount of darkness can ever extinguish
Such innocent beauty.

(I watched the Oprah special about the school she has built for the young girls in South Africa, and how can anyone be against something so beautiful and awe inspiring? There just seems to be a vast difference in the kids over there and some American kids. African kids seem to get it-intuitively they understand that they’re not entitled to anything, but have to work hard for it. Watching that piece, inspired this piece of poetry.)

His Love

God lives in this place
Which we now inhabit
His presence is always felt
In everything we do
Because our love is his love
Living, breathing in all of us
We are all his children
Equally beautiful and deserving
His love shows us
How unselfish real love should be.

Mentally

Standing next to you
I’m light of senses
Your natural womanly scent
Has given me an erection
A sudden heat has me feeling
As if I’m walking nude on a beach
The sun beating down against my flesh
Funny where your imagination can take you
All you have to do is follow
Right now, you appear unassuming
You know I’m watching
I want to stroke your hair
Kiss the hollow in your neck
Feel your breath kissing my ears
Pull you in my arms
Kiss you ‘til you can’t breathe
Reach down there to feel the fullness between your thighs
Hear you sigh deeply and you’re mine all mine.

Emptiness

An empty soul
Leaves a hungry spirit
Creating an unhappy heart
Causing your thoughts to wander
If your life could be better
Everything around you seems so much greener
You want what they have
You already have what you need
Open your eyes and see
Your life is beautiful
Just live it.

Craving

It’s been too long since I last felt your touch
A craving for your warmth keeps me up at nights
The feel of your skin hot and flush drives me nearly insane
Sleep cons me into a restless peace
And it seems unfathomable that something so simple
Can have me feeling such a deep craving
But I know, as certainly as the morning will visit in a few hours
I need to feel your heat soaking through my skin again
Nothing will be the same until I am inside of you
Satisfaction will only come
When my craving for you is fulfilled.

Blue Skies

Still, beyond the realm of possibility
The thought of you inhabits my quiet
Your love walks in my shadow
And I know you are there like shy sunshine
Peeking out from behind the clouds
Your warmth is a welcome feeling
Cascading over me free of the clouds
Nothing stands between us now
It’s just you and I love
Open road ahead and clear blue skies.

Soul Eyes

Words are passion
An energy of your spiritsoul
When spoken honestly
From the heart
They carry the weight
Of your life’s conviction
Look a person in their eyes
The reflection of their soul, unfiltered
Will be a canvas already painted
A sentence already spoken
A thought already completed
Love already in transition
From energy into a life form
Connecting two persons
Beyond this transitory life
When energy disappears, love still lives
As it always will.

Allow Me

If you allow me to touch
Every part of your being
It’s a feeling that will stay with you
Everyday for the rest of your life
For you see, I know the secrets that lay hidden
In the beauty of your heart
I know the inner cravings that consume your thoughts
Of someone to love you with a fever that’s unquenchable
Everyday the fire burns brighter and you want it more
Because you know happiness can at times be fleeting
If you allow me to touch you my love
I will make you believe in a love that’s all consuming.

Sweet Taste

You taste sweet
You remind me of summer
When a cold glass of water
Is the answer to every man’s prayer
Won’t you quench my thirst
With just a kiss from your lips
Now that I think of it
You taste like spring
Fresh, like falling rain
Drench me in your downpour
That I will so patiently wait for
Slow like molasses release your honey
Into my waiting reservoir
And I will want for nothing else
But the sweet taste of your fragrance
Forever living inside my being.

Sundays

Your touches feel like love
Your kisses taste like fire
You left your heat in the sheets
I roll into it to steal your warmth
You've finished drinking your coffee
Sundays are always the best days
When we're together.

Not A Word

Let your soul speak to me
When you no longer have the words
Everything you want to say, I already know
It is love that lives in the air we share
A heat of passion so humid that one more breath
You might very well collapse in my arms
So not a word from you my love

For all I already know,
Every sweet syllable that lives in your heart.

Who Knows

The day begins in silence
Another day of life we’re blessed with
Who knows when it will be your last
Live life with spiritual freedom
With renewed passion
As God intended for your special life
Secular religion is something I know something of
Where arbitrary rules of human conduct are written in words
Preached to the masses in hateful action
Devoid of the inclusiveness we should all attain to reach
Who knows when God will call you home
But until then, the path of your life you choose
We are born into religion
But spirituality is your individual choice to freedom.

God the Superhero

Just in time again
When all seems lost again
That you’re once again forgotten
Something happens to restore your faith
That you are not anonymous
That your life does matter
That God the Father has bigger plans for you
Than you have for yourself
And even when your inner voice has grown silent
He hears your prayers because he is always listening
Just in time again, God the superhero
Saves the day with his Omniscient love.

(The mood of benevolence and grace has struck me today and I remember once again to be humble which is no easy task but the face of one angel constantly runs through my mind….and I remember.)

Heavenly Father

We enjoy the gift of your grace
All you ask of us is to be thankful for our blessings
Walk in your footsteps and give to those who are needy
Too often, we get caught up in the importance of our lives
We don’t realize that in silence many are suffering
The simple gift of listening and being a friend
Would be the bridge of kindness they need
To get them to the next day
Where God is waiting to heal whatever ails their hearts
God is love, I can still hear those words of my Aunty Talin
To her, there is no deeper truth than these words
On this day may his love fill the souls of all his children
Who are lost and in need of his love.

Make Them Proud

The driving force in your life
Is to make your parents proud
Success or fortune has its rewards
But knowing the sacrifices made by others
On their strength you now stand
Lessons they’ve taught to you
Is now passed down to your children
The words one day you will understand
Now makes perfect sense
The times when you thought they didn’t love you
When the punishment didn’t fit the crime
Little did you know they were preparing you for life
Thank you doesn’t seem enough to say
To repay them for the sacrifices made
Raise good children who are giving
Your debt of gratitude will be fully paid
That, would make your parents proud.

Falling

Catch me I’m falling
Like a shooting star
Tumbling out of the sky
Right into your arms
The night is beautiful
Filled with so many possibilities
And all I want on this evening
Is for us to fall in love
Write our own beautiful story
So everyone can read and be inspired
That on any given night
A shooting star will blaze its way across the sky
And change your life forever.

God's Son

The promise of my life
Hasn’t been fulfilled as yet
There is work yet to be done
Though at times,
I feel as if I’m fighting a losing battle
Strength finds me in moments of solace
Where I speak to my thoughts
Searching for the truth in my heart
And the answer is always don’t give up
It’s the voice of God
My biggest supporter, urging me on
For only he truly knows the passion
That stirs deep within my soul
The many nights melancholy has sent me close to the edge
In the shadows he patiently stood
Waiting for me to find myself
The promise of my life
Is a testament to the faith he has placed in me,
God’s son.

Spark of Passion

Passion, like the sun’s heat
Has me enflamed with thoughts so seductive
My mind is hallucinating and has me believing
That it’s your lips I’m kissing
Your body I’m feeling
Igniting memories that lay sleeping
In the recesses of my heart
Passion sparked at the right instant
Sends waves of emotions crashing
And I once again remember what we once shared
We blazed a path to glory got caught up in the rapture
Of love’s seductive glare and I can’t help but recall
That look you wore on your face
The first time you saw me
Such a thrill it was to finally be in your presence
Forever will I remember, that initial spark of passion.

Touch a life
Fill it with hope
With the light of beauty
God has blessed you with
Sunlight hidden from the world
Can’t help life to grow in the darkness
Shine your light on another soul
Give your life a purpose as God intended
A beautiful spirit is hiding in the dark
Waiting for you to help it fly.

I Can't

I can’t let you go
Though I haven’t really even tried
To do so would somehow mean
I have moved on without you in my life
The idea of that just wouldn’t be true
That I could somehow bury your love
Tie a nice bow around it and stick it in a box
Take a look at it, maybe once a year
Well, that just wouldn’t be enough
My love is such, that I’m a glutton for everything you
Even though I already know what I will find
I come back hoping each and every time
For a beautiful ending
The one where you say you love me

And I say the same
Just before the curtain goes down
The crowd roars its approval
Cue the beautiful music
We live happily ever after.

Your E

E, I dreamt of you last night
It was wonderful to see your beautiful face again
We traveled across the ocean
To the land of your birth
To see you in your element did my heart good
This is where you belong with me
Showing me who you are, your history
The woman you are now was born of this place
A land of simplicity and ideals
In a perfect world we would plant roots here
Raise a family here and love each other with passion
Following in the footsteps of your ancestors
In a few minutes this dream will end
And I will be back again without you my E
How could this be you’re not in my life
The Gods of love must be turning over in their sleep
That we sleep alone without each other
When the thing I want most is to find the road back to your heart.

The Truth

An explanation of all things magical
Isn’t necessary for one to believe
That beyond their understanding
There are things that are just unexplainable
To go out on a limb
Give your imagination credence
That another life is happening
So surreal that the line between reality and fiction
Is blurred beyond recognition
All you’re left with is the truth
That resides in who you are
Take note for a minute
During the course of your day
Of something indiscriminate
Something you would normally dismiss
Imagine you are that thing
Give it life even though it might be lifeless
Embody its essence the way you would
With something that you love dearly
The truth will reveal itself to be
That somehow we are all connected
Even when the truth of it is hidden
It’s right there for us to see
All you have to do is keep looking.

Smoldering Energy

A fire is still smoldering
A touch from you builds an eruption
That’s been in the making but not quite lit
That look you’re giving to me
Sends me reeling and for a moment,
I lose all my senses, but it’s you again
Pulling me gently into your energy
It’s a beautiful thing when you have a lady
Secure in her sexuality
To allow you free reign of her body
You are the embodiment of heat
Winter this year won’t be so cold
As I lay naked in your warmth.

Mindful(l) Aphrodisiac

You know I miss you
Without me ever having to say so again
I know you feel it
Even when we haven’t even spoken
The intrigue of your company
Is all that I seek for now
If anything else comes of it
Then the natural order of things will be complete
I find you fascinating
Far beyond your physical prowess
To watch your mind in perpetual motion
Is a scintillating aphrodisiac I wish to partake of
If you allow me this delicacy of a treat
Forever will I be indebted to your will
You are a woman, my equal in every facet
I look forward to discovering all the nuances of who you are
Maybe one day, we can be one together.

Friend of Mine

It’s been years now since we’ve lost touch
Often I wonder how you are
You were a friend to me when I had lost myself
You gave me your strength to see me through
I know now you were an angel sent by God
He knew I was at my weakest
My heart ravaged by doubt and despair
The grace of your friendship was comforting and healing
You showed me the true beauty of the human spirit
Wherever you are today,
You have a friend in me for life
Anything you ask of me is yours
You will forever have my love.

Show Her

Touch her heart
Not with words
But with actions that show you deserve
All that she has to offer and more
Show her you’re a man first
Then your words will have more meaning
And when she lets you into her heart
Love her,
Like you won’t love another woman ever again.

A Chance Given

A chance given
Is a person remembered forever
The impact of an unselfish act
Makes you reach inside to find out who you are
To find that person living beneath unfulfilled dreams
Now, you not only want to be better for yourself
The mantle of responsibility
Makes you walk that much taller
Your head held just a little bit higher
The flower that once slept in darkness
Has been illuminated with confidence
All because someone took a chance on you
A chance given will never be forgotten
Pass on this blessing to the next person
Keep the circle of giving alive
Give, what was once given to you.

Heart Hurts

And my heart hurts
Even though I know why,
I don’t know why
But I know enough to know that something is missing
Something taken for granted and since it's been gone
I feel unable to move forward
At a standstill I am walking in circles
Somehow hoping when this darkness lifts
You will be there as you once were
And my heart hurts and mere words,
From those who just don’t know won’t be of any comfort
Only you, can lift my spirits
Bring me to that place again
When my heart was at peace.

The Sweetness of You

You are the constant bearer of gifts
Sweet fruits that once tasted
Can never be forgotten
I find myself unable to simply move on
Pretending that she could be you
When only you can play that role
Of being my woman that you so easily won
Your beauty is subtle like the first scent of spring being born
And it could be easily be missed
But I am a keen observer of human nature
And know that words don’t always say what they mean
Your actions reveal your true feelings for me
The sweetness of you in every kiss, every touch
Leaves me in constant awe
That somehow, you’ve seen something in me
A light, a beacon, drawing your aura even closer
I won’t disappoint you my love
I will safeguard your heart with my life.

One Day in Your Life

One of these days when you least expect
I will love you the way you deserve
To say words I don’t yet believe
But to know that tomorrow will bring me that much closer
To discovering the truth that you already know
Will make me love you that much deeper
And because you possess the virtue of patience
For me, you somehow waited
You knew, I would follow the truth of my heart
Leading me into your love
Here I am
Here you are
When love is real
It can’t be torn asunder.

Mortally Wounded

How could such a beautiful mouth
Spew such hurtful words
When once it only spoke of love
Speechless I am from any kind of banter
Your onslaught has left me somewhat shattered
So I stay quiet as my hurt festers
My heart is an open wound of feelings
Prone to mysterious maladies, sometimes unseen
A hurt like this can’t be hidden
It shadows me everyday and night
Until you come to heal my heart,
I will remain mortally wounded.

Swollen

My lips are swollen
From wanting you so much
Touch it gently
Feel me pulsating with want
To feel you inside me once again
Take your time, slow down
Take the scenic route
There’s no hurry to get there
Once you arrive be good to me
For being such a good woman and waiting so patiently
I know, only you can make me purr
Bring out my claws to dig deep in your back
Now fill me up with all of your inches
I won’t be asking you for more
I will take all that you have to give
Until my lips throb with sweet pain
And you’ve come again and again
Rest my love,
When you’re ready again to take what’s yours
It will be here waiting for you, always.

To Forget

Here I sit lost in thought
Quietly trying to recollect every memory we’ve ever shared
What if one day I awoke to find every memory of you gone?
Your smile would be forgotten
The way we kissed so tenderly,
Indeed your lips are a delicacy
I am only too happy to treat them as if they’re near extinction
You deserve that much from me, my best every time
How could I ever forget you?
To forget you would be to forget me
It would be as if our love never happened
So I will lock you away in a place in my heart
Where you will remain pure and untouched

Land of Nod

Before you visit the land of nod
Where dreams create a reality of their own
Always hold this thought as close
As I’ve always held you in my heart
That not a single day has gone by
That I haven’t wished to have you by my side
But another one now holds your heart
Loving you as you once did me
How cruel this game of love can be
Even after it’s taken all you have
You still want her to come back for more
For that one last chance at happiness
Keeps us hanging on long after,
We should have already left.

Kissing You

Just so you know I don’t kiss everyone like this
Kissing is a slow seductive dance
With a beautiful woman in your arms
An exchange of deeply held thoughts
As you share the words in your heart
Everything that needs to be said
Is spoken when our lips touch
There are no more secrets
You now know how I’ve always felt
Now kiss me some more
Only you can make me this wet
I’m swimming in myself
Until you come to release
What’s been waiting here only for you.

Love & Pain

Pain that shakes you to your very core
Love then infiltrates your gates
Settles slowly until you are ready to accept
A gift, given of free will
Finds a way to mend a heart that swore
Never to love again
Mirrors of each other, love & pain
Side by side they are sometimes indistinguishable
Until one day you realize that your swagger has returned
The pain, no longer hurts.

Indifferent

Where have you gone
I’ve been searching for you
For what seems like forever
I believe that you are worth the wait
So impatience won’t cloud my judgement
Cause me to do something stupid
For you I will remain just as I am
A woman in search of her one true love
Until you come to me,
My heart will remain indifferent
To the charms of all other men
You will find my heart untouched
And open for only your love.

Long After

Long after my memory has faded
And I am unable to recollect
You were the love of my life
I have to believe that the power of love,
Inherently runs so deep that not even the ravages of time
Can erase a love as profoundly affecting as ours
Something so beautiful cannot be forgotten
Simply because we are no longer relevant
And the world has found new lovers to take our place
You will always be the light that shines in my eyes
The warmth that flows in my blood
The woman who captured my heart
After I had already given up
But always secretly hoping that love,
Would once again call my heart home
Long after my memory has faded
I will remember you even in fleeting thought
My mind will search every corner of my heart
To find what once was so beautiful.

For Everyday

For everyday that we live
For everyday we haven’t found love yet
Will be one less day to love you
One more day to wonder where you are
When you should be right here with me
For everyday that I breathe
You, I am unable to kiss
Is one more day my soul goes empty
When that day finally comes
I can open my arms
To welcome love into my heart
And everyday that will follow
Will be a day spent loving you
With all of my heart.

Espresso

Too early in the morning
To be looking this damn good
I haven’t even had my coffee yet
And yet, you’ve given me a shot of espresso
Should keep me going all damn day
If that ain’t enough
I’ll just come back for another look
This time you done gon add
Some of your sweet brown sugar to the mix
It’s all my heart can take with this sugar rush
Save some for later…cause I’ll be back for more
The things you can do to a man
And you ain’t even trying
Just imagine if you smiled my way-imagine that
Just imagine that...

Back to Love

Can we find our way back to love
What was once so good for both of us
Still has to have that fire
The flames of our passion
Must still burn bright
Something once so beautiful
So full of magic and promise
Couldn’t have just died
While we were busy with this thing called life
Can’t we find our way back to love
Somewhere in us must still exist
The little girl in you, the shy boy in me
Touch me once again
The way you did that very first day
Remind me once again why we fell in love
The road back to love can only lead to you
Let’s take that first step together
To find our way back to love.

Reflections

I see you now as you should see yourself
The reflection in my eyes
Is the mirror into your soul
Why don’t you know you are beautiful?
Your presence alone guarantees a smile
Until you believe that you are
The direct descendant of Kings and Queens
My words will mean nothing
Unless you believe in the gift of who you are.

Early Listening of John Legend

Heh,
Just wanted to give you a chance for an early listen of John Legend's new CD. It's streaming audio so you can't skip tracks, but it's definitely worth listening to the entire cd. Legend has done it again. Enjoy!!

To Touch

To touch me at this moment
Would be much too painful to bear
Everything in my heart
Would no longer be a secret
For you would see me as I am
An open window into my soul
Would be yours to look into
Be gentle, even in your quiet
I can be caused pain
Don’t take my love for granted
It hurts, when the one you love
Is callously dismissive of your feelings.

Pleasure

Her lips are moving but not a word I’m hearing
Her body is calling for some immediate loving
It’s a call filled with urgency
An immediate response is necessary
Who am I not to heed her plea
How could I resist not to pleasure her immensely
And it’s not that I subscribe to vanity
Or that I take her banshee calls of wild abandon
As affirmation of anything other
Than the girl is enjoying every stroke of my loving
Pleasure is the sweetest thing to give your lover
Without expecting anything in return
You worship the ground they walk on
To make them happy in a perfect world
Would be your sole occupation

I'm Already There

The miles between us are quickly receding
I’m already there as you’re waiting
You’re smiling cause you see me coming
Don’t listen to the loneliness in your heart
Hear the words of when we talk
Cause I’m already there
You’re shedding your tears in my arms
For all the happy days to come
I’m already there
Despair is merely a mirage
A bad dream that’s ending now
Open your eyes my love
I’m already there

Soul on Fire

My soul is on fire
Touch me now
You too,
Would become enflamed from my passion
Even a river of ice right now
Would simply be unable
To extinguish the flames burning at my core
I’m an eternal smoldering flame
Even the absence of air won’t stop me from breathing.

Beautiful and Naked

My eyes are closed mimicking sleep
But it’s you I see beautiful and naked
Dancing across my mind screen
I reach for you but you’re already there
Your body impaled against mine
Whispering words that make me blush
I feel the heat of my desire rising
Something deep inside is stirring
An animal caged in need of release
To wander the wildness of your jungle
Untamed, I taste the spoils of your sweet fruit
Found only in that place that opens for me
How is it I can never get enough
The more I come the more I want
Only for you will my desire not subside.

Beautiful Waters

From which beautiful waters did you emerge
Fully conscious of who you are
You were a woman before you were a child
Your innocence feeds the hunger
Of the eyes that watch you walk by
Drinking greedily from every girlish flirtation
Looking for an entrance to extract your sweetness
They all want to be, the first one to make you a woman
As if they would know how to touch your essence
Being saved for that someone special
From which beautiful waters did you emerge
One day I hope to swim in the depths of your waters
Touching bottom every single time
For that day I wait until you are ready to give yourself.

A good day is when they walk together
Enjoying all that life has to offer.

Empty Hands

My hands are empty until I hold you again
You are singularly beautiful
In your every thought and deed
You are the most beautiful woman
On the face of this earth
Knowing you love me
Fills me with emotions that are indescribable
I want to smell your hair again
Get lost in your smile again
Watch the raindrops fall on your face
Then kiss your lips so wet
As I lose myself in the madness of this consuming passion
Driving me to the edge of where we live
I see the fire and feel the flames
Searing through me but I feel no pain
Your love shelters me from it all.

True Spirit

The day is much too beautiful for any negative thoughts
Let the beauty of nature replenish your soul
Rest your head gently on my shoulder
Close your eyes and relax your mind
Let all your worry and strife fly away
Like the bird flying in the far off distance
Free to be just a bird and nothing else
Be who you are, a passionate being
Without any apologies for embracing your true spirit
Walk in a path of your own creation
Defy conventional wisdom to be an individual
A true spirit answers to no one
Except your God and conscience.

Naked Desire

What more can I say
You’re in my blood
I touch my skin, and
I feel you inside of me
Despite myself,
I am unable to outrun
That which burns for you
A penetrating desire which at times
Leaves me defenseless with naked desire

I Love You Just Because

To forget you would be impossible
The mere effort would require more strength than I have
I am too weak a person to expend so much energy
Knowing full well my efforts would be for naught
So I will love you just because
You’re the only woman I think of
No one else can fill your space
They dare not even try
For as long as I love you
You will always live in my heart
I love you just because
You are who you are
The woman who steals my breath every single time.

You

You move with an ease
Free of all worries
You inhabit the moment
When others merely exist in it
You own who you are
You are a woman who knows her place
Which is anywhere and everywhere she wants.

The Quiet

The quiet hasn’t dulled your memory
If anything, the silence makes your absence even more profound
Your scent lives in every corner of my house
Days spent without you now
Is merely an existence without truly living
Your voice I sometimes hear
I crave like mad to hear you say my name again
Your voice heavy with want
Now leaves me wanting for something
I never knew I needed
Now that I have felt what was once a mystery
Love revealed her face to me and it’s you
My body is malnourished for your touch
Only you can feed me what I most desire
One more night I would like to have
Knowing it would be our last
Every moment I would cherish
Every kiss would be savored
Every look, reflection of thought
Would serve as running conversation for me now
It can’t end like this
I refuse to believe something so deeply changing
Could just end for no good reason.

So Beautiful

When did you become this person
So beautiful it hurts
You live in this world
Where you can’t be touched
Loving you is all I want to do
I exist in your world at your whim
Easily disregarded and forgotten
Remembered again just by accident
And yet, you know who I am
So there’s always a chance
One day, love will be kind to me
When that day comes
I will be there to give you my heart.

New Short (The Anonymous Person)

The Anonymous Person is a new short about people who are seemingly forgotten because what they do isn't "sexy" and not world changing, but their existence serves a purpose. Without them, without you, without me, the whole thing would fall apart. Anyway, here it is...

Sands of Time

I stand still in the moment
Allowing the world to revolve around me
Feeding on its energy
Creativity is inspired again
Time traveling through the beauty of time
I see things I’ve only read about
What must it have been like to have been a friend of Shakespeare?
Listen to the poetry of Lord Byron?
How could anyone not be inspired to come in contact with Martin?
And have read the prose of James Baldwin
To have broken bread with Gandhi
What must it have been like for J. D. Salinger
To write a little story in his mind and fifty years later
Still gaining fans for his Catcher in the Rye
Many inspire to dream great things
Few have been touched with the ability to touch the masses
It’s a humble man who knows that he’s only a vessel
Carrying the message of a higher power
But what must it be like to be truly touched by the hands of God?

A Woman's Love

A woman who loves you
Is indeed a blessing
Any man would be lucky
To enjoy such passion
At least once in his lifetime
Like a mother’s love,
A woman’s love is fierce, uncompromising
She is who you would want
By your side until the very end
There is no higher calling
Than to love someone with all your heart.

As Simple

As simple as I can say it
Everyday without you
Has me missing you
I know it sounds pathetic
But this is just how I feel
And no one else in the world feels this way
My feelings are my feelings
Even if you may not care to know
My love you will always have
It’s my gift from me to you.

(I heard this nursery rhyme in my head from when I was a kid so I wrote this more in that vein. Sing Song words in my head...just a little ditty….ya)

Secrets

Every secret you’ve ever had
Every secret you’ve ever shared
You revealed them all to me
The first time that we kissed
I kissed the little girl once shy
And now a woman filled with confidence
Such a sexy aphrodisiac self-assurance can be
Your lips taste like a woman in search of love
Who wouldn’t settle just because…
The hunger in your lips
Rekindled a passion in me once lost
I remember who I am again
The deeper my tongue probes
The more secrets are revealed
We are exposed as two lovers
In search of each other
Standing naked, fully clothed
There are no more secrets.

This Longing Ache

This longing ache that I feel
Wrapping its loneliness around my soul
Like quicksand devouring another victim
Has me curled up in a fetal position
On the cold wooden floor
The world is asleep at this God forsaken hour
Until my eyes come to rest on you again my love
Sleep is for the dead and just born babies
The wind howls outside crying my pain
The world doesn’t stop to listen
She moves on with her life leaving me behind
She too has grown tired of my tales of unrequited love
But what is a heart to do
When the only thing it craves is love

No Name Thought

Like a thought born from somewhere of secrecy

A new light appears, a flame of inspiration

To quell the mundane and I feel myself being lifted

To a place of exulation, a promise of good things to come

It's the whisper in the soul letting you know

That somewhere out there, we're all connected

That in this world at any given time

Someone is thinking of you, of something you did

To make them smile and for that only

Your purpose has been served.

Fleeting Life

Time goes by so fast these days now
Faster than it used to when we were younger
Somehow things that seemed so important
To give our life some sort of meaning
Without the routine it all seems so empty
Friends we always thought we would have
Somewhere along the line we went our separate ways
Time spent and endless conversations
Laughs and all those jolly good times
Just a memory frozen in time
Gathering dust occasionally echoing through our hearts
Of the people we once were how easily we are forgotten
By the ones who claim to love us forever
Words lost in a breath disappearing into thin air
How fleeting life can be when you’re not even looking
From a child to a man seems like only a day has passed
Where has all the time gone?
Seemed like we would have forever
How fleeting this life can be
Grab your fist of happy
Cherish it with every breath
One day soon you will need that memory
To keep you going to the next.

Temporarily

My mind takes leave of its senses
Only to return when you give me my heart back
In dark alleys I have searched for its soul
But it is now barren, devoid of feeling
Filled with the pain of a lifetime of hurt
When you left you took all of my hope
Temporarily, I lost all of my senses
Only when the rain falls now
Am I replenished once again
And my tears disappear into the raindrops
In search of what once was a life
Only when you come back
Will this rain taste like life again.

Affirmation

To say I love you
Is a natural affirmation of my feelings
My actions already say it
Now my words will say the same
If you need to hear it
To know that my love is real
Because words can paint a story
That action can’t truly eloquently capture
Words connect the heart to the picture
Of all the wonderful things that love can be
In her imagination,
Words always have all the right answers.

Illegal

Women like you should be illegal
You are far too beautiful
To walk this earth unattended
Causing havoc among mortal men
Caught in the path of your beauty
There’s something Greek about you, a passion untamed
You’re a force of nature to be reckoned with
A hurricane that devasates everything in its wake
Once you leave everything will have changed
Life as we know it will cease to exist
And in its place, a breath of fresh air
A renewed sense of appreciation
For the beauty that we see each and everyday
